A code has been developed by the European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO) as an official system for descriptions of packaging with simple, internationally recognised symbols.
When you see a size for a box it is always written in this order:
Length x Width X Height mm
One-piece, slotted-type boxes that are glued, stitched or taped. Top and bottom flaps for closure.
Consisting of more than one piece and characterised by a lid and/or bottom telescoping over the body of the box.
Usually consisting of only one piece of board. The bottom of the box is hinged to form two or all side walls and the cover. Locking tabs, handles, display panels etc., can be incorporated in some designs.
Consisting of several pieces of liners and sleeves sliding in different directions into each other. This group also includes outside sleeves for other cases.
Consisting of one piece, shipped flat, requiring simple assembly.
